About Us
nuthin' but champions (or NBC) was created so that Carlos Aguilar, Gerry Daniel, Lee Daniel, Paul Daniel, and Stephen Harris could all play together in one group. All 5 of these people were new to ESPN's fantasy games, but were becoming quickly addicted. In the fall of 2001, nuthin' but champions became a reality.
In its beginning, we had a relatively small number of members (less than 10) but we had a defined mission: to play only the free games and have fun doing it.
The website itself came about after Paul and Stephen got tired of waiting on ESPN to update. So they took it upon themselves to make an excel spreadsheet with everyone's uber scores. Shortly after this, Lee took hold of the website and made it database driven. By the time the 2003 season was about to start, nuthinbutchampions.org was a reality.
Also at the beginning of the 2003 season, a merger between other groups and nuthin but chamions added to the quality and competitiveness of the group. After the merger, it generally took a finish on the overall leaderboard for that ESPN Fantasy Game to take home the first place trophy.
By 2006, nuthin but champions had an independant College Pick'Em game, a refined message board, a joint venture with www.mocfans.com, Yahoo! Fantasy leagues, all the ESPN fantasy games, and more.
In 2023, we decided to revive nuthinbutchampions.org to celebrate the 20th anniversary of it's founding, and post some key content for the old members to be recognized and reminisce.
At our peak, we were located in the US and Canada. Here is a map with approximate locations of members:
